Visitor Information for Church Lane Football Fields, LS26 9HN.

Please note: We have added a map to the playing fields at the bottom of this page.

Firstly, welcome to Methley we are really looking forward to welcoming you to our fantastic site at Church Lane.  We want make sure, all players, coaches and visitors stay safe whilst on our site so hopefully all the information provided here will ensure you have an enjoyable visit to our ground.

You may discuss any information provided in this document with any of our coaches, or alternatively contact our Chairman, Chris Paul or our Child Welfare Officers Rob Shortland, Sarah Stevenson or Nicola Allen at info@methleyunitedafc.org

Guidelines for all our visitors.

Car Parking: We have provided a site map which we hope you find useful, this shows you which pitch you will be playing on before you arrive.  There is hardcore park to the right as you enter the site and to the left is overflow parking on the grass area.  We ask that you avoid parking on Church Lane to avoid any complaints from our neighbours.  Please can we ask all visitors to be considerate and drive slowly when entering our site to ensure all our players and visitors stay safe whilst on the site.  The site is extremely busy during match days as we have a shared site with rugby, if we can politely ask that you help us maximise the space available by parking close to neighbouring cars to ensure we have space for everyone on site.

Toilet Facilities: We do have toilet facilities which can be accessed by all our visitors on site.  The main toilet is a disabled toilet which requires a radar key to enter, we ask that the door is left open after use so that this is constantly available for all visitors.  If the door is locked if you ask one of the coaches on site, they have a key which can be used to open the door.

We kindly ask that nobody urinates on the field at any time, we have received complaints from residents in the past where the police and the council have been involved so we need to avoid this at all times.

Rugby Fields: The Rugby club have asked for all football teams and visitors to avoid using the rugby fields at all times.  If we could politely ask that all coaches, parents and players remain off the rugby fields at all times it would be greatly appreciated.  We thank you for your co-operation.

Respect: Like most grassroots football clubs we are a strong believer in ‘Respect’ of everyone involved in Grassroots football, not least the referee.  As a club we promote the use of young referee’s and give them the confidence to officiate games after passing their qualifications.  We ask that all visitors to our site respect the referee’s, young or old, male or female, without their willingness to officiate games we would not be able to play.  We ask that supporters of both teams encourage the efforts of both teams and act respectfully at all times, creating a fun and friendly atmosphere that encourages both teams players to perform the best they can do.

Drink Bottles/Rubbish: Can we please ask that you kindly pick up any rubbish from the pitches and ensure these are all placed in the bins in and around the site.  We really appreciate you adhering to this.

Team Colours: Methley United AFC play all their home games in Red tops, black shorts and red socks.

Dogs: Dogs are welcome on site but they must be kept on a lead at all times for the safety and protection of everyone on site.

Smoking: We kindly ask that all visitors to our sites refrain from all forms of smoking (including e-cigarettes and vaping), Methley United AFC fully supports the FA’s Smoke Free side lines campaign, to provide a safe, smoke free environment for players to enjoy their football.

Methley United AFC is unable to take any liability or responsibility for failure of managers, coaches, parents/carers and players to adhere to these regulations. Although we try and maintain the cleanliness of our toilet facilities, you use these at your own risk.

On behalf of everyone at Methley United AFC, we wish you a safe trip over and look forward to welcoming you soon.
