Guidelines for all our visitors

  1. Car Parking: The Brigshaw football pitch and car park is accessed through the lower car park, as you drive down Brigshaw Lane the entrance can be found at the bottom of the school through 2 large green gates.  There is parking as you drive through the gates towards the changing rooms and there is an additional parking towards the gym building up a slight incline from the entrance if you turn to the right. Please can we ask all visitors to be considerate and drive slowly when entering our site to ensure all our players and visitors stay safe whilst on the site.
  1. Toilet Facilities: We do have toilet facilities which can be accessed by all our visitors on site. The toilets can be located in the changing room block, which we have access to on matchdays at Brigshaw High School.
  1. Access to the Pitches: The pitches are located at the bottom of a slope at the school, there is a steep slope, opposite the changing rooms which is the quickest way down to the fields but we recommend that the 2 safety routes are used by all visitors to ensure there are no injuries or falls, whilst you are on site. We have included a map at the bottom of this page to show the pitch location.

The best access to the pitches for our visitors to ensure everyone stays safe are by walking towards the bike shelters, as you walk out of the changing room in the car park you walk to the left hand side of the car park and the slope is much steadier and safer.  The other option is if you walk alongside the all-weather pitch on the right hand side, there is again a steadier slope which can be used to make the walk down much safer.

The pitches can be viewed from the parking area from a distance if visitors would prefer to stay on the tarmac rather than venturing on to the grass and going down to the pitches.

  1. Respect: Like most grassroots football clubs we are a strong believer in ‘Respect’ of everyone involved in Grassroots football, not least the referee. As a club we promote the use of young referee’s and give them the confidence to officiate games after passing their qualifications.  We ask that all visitors to our site respect the referee’s, young or old, male or female, without their willingness to officiate games we would not be able to play.  We ask that supporters of both teams encourage the efforts of both teams and act respectfully at all times, creating a fun and friendly atmosphere that encourages both teams players to perform the best they can do.

  1. Drink Bottles/Rubbish: Can we please ask that you kindly pick up any rubbish from the pitches and ensure they are all placed in the bins in and around the site. We really appreciate you adhering to this.

  1. Team Colours: Methley United AFC play all their home games in Red tops, black shorts and red socks.
  1. Dogs: As part of the contract with Brigshaw High School, dogs are not allowed on site at the school.

  1. Smoking: We kindly ask that all visitors to our sites refrain from all forms of smoking (including e-cigarettes and vaping), Methley United AFC fully supports the FA’s Smoke Free side lines campaign, to provide a safe, smoke free environment for players to enjoy their football.

Methley United AFC is unable to take any liability or responsibility for failure of managers, coaches, parents/carers and players to adhere to these regulations. Although we try and maintain the cleanliness of our toilet facilities, you use these at your own risk.

On behalf of everyone at Methley United AFC, we wish you a safe trip over and look forward to welcoming you soon.
