A fantastic match report from Coach TonyWell done to the U7 Titans today in a tight away game v Wortley with the new coaching team. Corey in goal gets better with every game and made some brilliant saves and deservedly got man of the match.Harry battled for everything and as always gave 100% Jude was his usual consistent self sweeping up at the back but also tried his hand on the wing and held his own.Sonny got in some great challenges and was unlucky on a few occasions as he made space in front of goal. Oscar capped another good performance with a well deserved goal put away into the far corner where no goalkeeper would have had a chance. Albie is quickly coming to grips with the beautiful game the more he plays and certainly played his part for the team. Riley played a number of positions including goalkeeper. His long kicks from his goal created problems for the opposition. The boys are certainly improving as the season goes on, and also are building a really good team spirit. Well done boys ... Methley Vipers U9 vs Durkar Devils Yellows U9Today was a slightly chilly away game in the league against Durkar Devils yellows! Always a good game with both sets of kids and coaches playing the right way.The game was a great one with some great play on show from both teams. From the start, we played some great football and defended well against a good Durkar side with all goalkeepers showing some great saves. The passing today was really excellent and effective showing the drills in training are making a real difference! The boys played great and showed real determination and teamwork.Goals:H (Henry)HarrisonTomasJackLucasAssists:Harrison MaxTomasPlayers of the match:Opposition was given to Harrison for his overall play and reading of the game from central midfield. Coaches decided today that focus is often on attacking players and we wanted to show some support for our defensive players. This was given to Cristian for his cover at the back and his closing down! MATCH REPORTMethley United Rebels U12s 2–1 Farsley Final League Game • Promotion SecuredOn a day loaded with pressure and possibility, the Methley Rebels stepped onto home turf knowing exactly what was required: win, and they finish runners‑up… and earn another promotion. No shortcuts, no favours — just one last performance to define their season. The first half was strangely flat. Passes didn’t quite land, the tempo was off, and Farsley sensed their chance. When the visitors took the lead early in the second half, the Rebels were staring at a test of character. But this team doesn’t fold. They respond. With 15 minutes left, the Rebels found their spark. They pressed higher, moved the ball quicker, and suddenly looked like the side that had fought all season for this moment. An equaliser arrived, then a winner, and the final whistle confirmed it: a comeback victory, runners‑up secured, and promotion achieved. Not their prettiest performance — but one full of heart, grit, and belief.⭐ PLAYER SPOTLIGHTSLiliana – Parents’ Player of the MatchA huge performance on a huge day. Brave, sharp, and fearless, Liliana kept the Rebels alive with several key stops, including her trademark dives at players’ feet. Her late fingertip save over the bar was outstanding and ensured the Rebels held on. Calm under pressure and crucial to the win.NancyAnother composed, intelligent defensive display. Nancy read danger brilliantly, intercepted countless passes, and used her pace to tidy up at the back. Solid, reliable, and always switched on.OrlaithA bundle of energy in midfield. As the game got tougher, Orlaith got stronger — battling, pressing, and driving the team forward. Tenacious and tireless, she played a huge part in the Rebels’ late surge.EvieRock‑solid once again. Evie tackled firmly, played out confidently, and covered teammates superbly. Her long throws remain a genuine attacking weapon. A defender in excellent form.KateThe ultimate team player. Kate played in almost every position today and handled each one brilliantly. Adaptable, hard‑working, and always giving everything for the team.FloAfter a quick word from Coach Micky, Flo came alive — running at her defender, beating her multiple times, and looking sharper with every minute. She was unlucky not to score when bursting through on goal. A real threat throughout.Iris – Coaches’ Player of the MatchOutstanding from start to finish. Iris carried the team forward when they were struggling and showed real quality on the ball. Her equalising goal was pure composure — through on goal, picked her spot, buried it. A leader’s performance on a big day.AmsUp against a big, physical Farsley side, Ams stood tall and matched them stride for stride. Strong in the challenge, strong in the press, and strong in her presence. A huge contribution to the team effort.BellaIsolated at times but never stopped working. Bella created chances out of nothing, hit the bar, and kept Farsley’s defence guessing. Her big moment came at 1–1: a superbly struck free‑kick that flew in and won the game. A goal worthy of any match.EffieA real figure of composure. When the game around her felt rushed and frantic, Effie stayed cool as a cucumber — winning the ball cleanly, taking her time, and playing out from the back with total calmness. No panic, no fuss, just quality. She made it look easy today and was brilliant throughout.FINAL THOUGHTSA patchy performance, but a brilliant result. Winning when you’re not at your best is the mark of a top team — and today, the Rebels proved exactly why they’re heading for another promotion.Proud coaches. Proud parents. Proud players. Rebels rise again. ... See MoreSee Less

Colton vs Methley Strikers U7sA performance to rememberThe Methley Strikers arrived at Colton with fire in their bellies and delivered, without question, their finest performance of the season. From the first whistle to the last, every single boy grafted, battled, and played with real quality. The teamwork, the shape, the desire—it all came together in a display that had the coaches beaming.Below is the full breakdown of each baller’s contribution, because every one of them earned their spotlight today.PLAYER SPOTLIGHTS⭐ SebA warrior from start to finish. Seb threw himself into every challenge, organising the defence like a seasoned pro and constantly driving his teammates forward. His standout moment came with a thunderous, rampaging run through the middle—his strike cannoned off the post, but the rebound was tucked away for a Strikers goal. Pure commitment, pure leadership.⭐ FinleyRock solid at the back. Finley was switched on from the first minute, reading the game brilliantly and positioning himself perfectly to break up play. Time after time he stepped in with clean tackles and calm defending. A brilliant defensive performance.⭐ NathanielAnother big step forward for Nathaniel today. His work rate was outstanding—tracking back, battling, and refusing to give Colton a moment’s peace. He grabbed a well‑deserved goal with superb control, and he even made sure Kye’s goal stood when the ref hesitated. Smart, sharp, and full of heart.⭐ EllisEllis worked tirelessly all game, putting in strong tackles and showing real confidence running with the ball. He was unlucky not to be clean through on goal after brilliantly nicking the ball off the defender, only to be fouled. A gritty, determined display.⭐ KyeA powerhouse today. Kye battled from start to finish, showing real strength on the ball and clinical finishing for his two goals. What stood out even more was his willingness to get back and help the defence—proper team-first football.⭐ AlbieAlbie was electric. He pressed, battled, and refused to let Colton settle for even a second. His dazzling runs caused chaos, and he was rewarded with two goals—the first taken with real composure. A relentless, high-quality performance.⭐ JacobA defensive masterclass. Jacob repeatedly won the ball back and immediately turned defence into attack with his dribbling and superb range of passing. He created chance after chance from deep and made Methley incredibly hard to break down. A hugely impressive display.⭐ CharlieAn absolute menace in the best possible way. Charlie pressed like a machine, winning the ball back countless times and constantly threatening in the final third. He came close to scoring and delivered his strongest performance of the season—rightly recognised with the Parents’ Player award.SUMMARYThis was, by a country mile, the Strikers’ best performance to date. All eight boys turned up with hunger, passion, and a real desire to work for each other. The quality on show was outstanding, but even more impressive was the teamwork—holding shape, supporting one another, and playing with real purpose. Coaches couldn't choose a coaches player because everyone deserves it! Against a strong Colton side, the Strikers looked dangerous, disciplined, and full of belief. The coaches couldn’t be prouder. What a morning. What a team. ... See MoreSee Less

Well… what a game at sav park this morning.. we came up against a team who had already beaten us twice.. the football on display from both teams was such high quality… the first half was pretty cagey.. but the 2nd half is when the game came to life…. A perfect free kick from James Clayson… 1-0… a perfect corner from Zach wood for Robbie Beachall to tap in… 2-0 up with 20 to go.. we’ve got this… however with 10 mins to go a lapse in concentration made it 2-1… time to tighten up.. the lads saw the remaining minutes out… plenty more games to come… ... ‘A HUUUUUGE 3 points for the boys this morning after newbald drop points as we continue to chase’ Kippax 1–6 Methley u16Methley delivered a dominant performance away from home 💪, securing an impressive 6–1 victory over Kippax. The visitors started strongly and took the lead early on when Jacob rose well to meet a corner from Ben W ⚽, finishing confidently to make it 1–0. Methley continued to control the game, and their pressure paid off again as Jamie doubled the lead with a well-taken goal 🎯.Karol added a third ⚽ to put Methley firmly in command before Lewis made it four 🔥, capping off an excellent attacking spell. Methley showed no signs of slowing down, and Karol grabbed his second of the game for the fifth goal ⚽, this time assisted by Jamie 🤝.The sixth came from another dangerous delivery by Ben W 🎯, whose corners caused problems all game, with Miller finishing to extend the lead even further ⚽.Methley could have added more, with Reece unlucky to see his effort crash against the crossbar 😮‍💨.Kippax managed to pull one back late on ⚽, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation as Methley comfortably saw out the game 🧱.A standout performance came from Ben W ⭐, whose set-piece deliveries were crucial throughout, earning him a well-deserved Man of the Match 🏆.⏱️ Full-time: Kippax 1–6 Methley.7 TO GO - let’s gooooo ... A very misty and damp Church Lane hosted this week’s battle against Wakey Owls. The girls turned up and were determined to play the socks off…they didn’t disappoint!Polly - another epic game for Polly. She played some great foootball, defending as well as pressing forwards in the midfield - she even nearly had an assist! Mia - her tackling and was on point today, as well as her passing. She had some assists which saw her showing us her awareness of the ball and other players on the pitch. Margot - this girl doesn’t take her eye off the ball. Once again she made some fantastic saves in goal and her decision making was insane! She’s making a name for herself this young lady - in all the right ways! Megan - where to start. Megan was a powerhouse today and without her, it would have been a very different match. Her passing was brilliant and she had some great shots on goal. Coach’s Player - Dixie ❤️🏆🌟⚽️Once again, some beautiful attacking play today from D. She gave 100% throughout every quarter and had some fantastic shots on goal. Parent’s Player - Hattie ⚽️🏆❤️🌟 A debut for Hattie today and her confidence grew every minute! Some super tackles and team work today! Well done!#Upthethunder ... See MoreSee Less

Great stuff from the u10 Panthers today. We left the Methley fog behind and travelled to Battyeford to play the Belles Blues. The girls were raring to go and their energy and presence was felt from the whistle. An early and standout moment culminated in an early goal for Aurora who capitalised on some lovely link up play with Darcey and Olivia. The team worked hard on a heavy pitch, they enjoyed some dominant spells of possession and dug in when they needed to. Shoutout to Ruby who stepped up in goal and didn’t put a foot wrong. It was also great to see some of the quieter players finding their voice on the pitch, the confidence growing across the team really came across. ⭐️👏⭐️👏⭐️ AURORA took the Coaches’ Player after a fantastic game - kept pushing forward using her strength to create many chances. MATILDA was the Parents’ Player for a focussed performance - strong on the press and smart defending helped by her great positional play. ALICE was picked as Opposition Player - she impressed with her running with the ball to get Methley on the attack and some long range efforts.Fantastic team effort again today Panthers. Match Report - 15.03.2026Methley White Lions U11s V Monk Fryston U11s A wet and windy day made for a fast-paced game, with both teams battling hard from the start. It was a real end-to-end match with plenty of great moments and some magical play from the boys. The opening goal came from Freddie, who managed to find the back of the net from a very tight angle – The game continued at a high tempo with chances at both ends.Bobby then produced a great moment of individual skill, taking on a couple of players before finishing confidently.Another great team moment followed when the opposition keeper came out to collect the ball, but Bobby reacted quickly to win it back and square it to Henry S, who calmly finished it. Overall, it was a brilliant performance from the boys against a team that also dug deep.Henry didn’t have a huge amount to do in goal but was solid when called upon. The defence was excellent all game and really controlled things well. Logan and Majus were rock solid throughout, while Harrison and Deacon rotated well at left back and both had strong games. In midfield, Toby and Henry S worked tirelessly and covered a lot of ground for the team. Going forward, Bobby and Faeley linked up really well down the right and were a constant attacking threat with the support of Freddie and Vinnie who rotated well at left mid. A few passes into the box could have come a little earlier or with a bit more care, but that’s something to keep improving on.Overall, all the boys played really well as individuals and also showed a very strong team performance.Goals:⚽ Freddie⚽ Bobby⚽ Henry S🏅MedalOpposition MOTM: Logan🏅Parents MOTM: Deacon🏅Coach MOTM: MajusCoaches voice: Brilliant performance by the boys today – well done everyone 👏 ...
