The young vandals on bikes are back we’ve spotted them this evening (03/05) - thank you to all the local residents for your support. We know exactly who they are, hopefully just a matter of time now until the police catch them with patrols now becoming more regular in the area. Please keep calling 101 to report issues with these bikes when they are causing a nuisance around the village - please do not ignore it, report them immediately 👍Cameras are now operating around the area to track their activity, it’s pretty sad that these youths are continuing to vandalise a football field where many of our local community play.Rather than vandalise our pitches we invite you to come along to a training session, join one of our teams and play on them and add value to your village ⚽️🙏🏼 ... U9 Match ReportMethley Vipers vs Shadwell UtdThis morning we welcomed Shadwell to Church Lane for a post season friendly. Great set of coaches and players.Weather conditions weren’t ideal, but the lads didn’t let that affect them. The opening 5 minutes we found ourselves pinned in our own half, but then our opening goal felt like it opened the game. The lads really battled well today, worked really hard for each other, and hearing the voices on the pitch, something we’ve been trying to work on with them in training was great to see / hear. Seeing how the lads have come on and improved during the second half of the season has been amazing, and they should all be proud of how they’ve turned things around.Goals today came from;HenryLucasNoahTomasPlayers of the Match;Opposition went to Tomas who again was all over the pitch, attacking, defending, scoring and assisting.Coaches could have gone to any player today as we had 8 warriors on that pitch, however we decided to focus on a position that goes under the radar in games, defence! Our trophy this week went to Arthur who had a really solid game in defence. Naturally plays on the right, but used on the left and really battled across the back line when needed, and was there to get the tackles, blocks and clearances in. ... See MoreSee Less

Methley Rebels U12s – Match Report Friendly Away vs Calverley United Final Score: Calverley United 1–6 Methley RebelsMethley Rebels rounded off their trio of tough friendlies in style, producing a brilliant 6–1 away win against Calverley United. After two games where the performance deserved more, today the girls finally got the reward their effort and quality merited. Against a side a division higher, they were fearless, together, and absolutely outstanding.Player SpotlightsLiliana A superb performance between the sticks. She made several excellent saves, reading danger early and flying off her line with real authority. Her bravery stood out—diving at the feet of a striker clean through on goal was a huge moment. Distribution was sharp and confident. Nothing she could do about the goal.Orlaith A captain’s shift of the highest order. She was everywhere—aggressive, relentless, and dominant. Didn’t miss a single tackle, covered brilliantly, and played out from the back with real composure. Set the tone for the whole team.Lily C Stepped up a few divisions and looked completely at home. Won tackles, stayed switched on, and kept her head up to find passes. A really mature showing and a big contribution to the team performance.Kate Arguably her best game in a Rebels shirt. Strong, decisive, and totally dependable. She didn’t miss a tackle, cleared danger with confidence, and backed up her teammates at every opportunity. Coaches were seriously impressed.Flo Electric from the first whistle. She looked hungry, direct, and full of belief. Opened the scoring with a well‑taken finish and kept causing havoc—dribbling at defenders, creating chances, and linking beautifully in the box. Her assist for Bella was top class.Iris – Coaches’ Player of the Match Back to her flying best. Beat her defender time and time again with blistering pace, but it was her work rate that really shone—sprinting back to help the defence, pressing, and giving everything. Created a stack of chances with clever passing and intelligent movement. A complete performance.Ams Strong, disciplined, and improving every week. Broke up play brilliantly, won her duels, and showed real progress with her distribution. A gorgeous reverse pass to Bella in the second half was a standout moment. Got herself into the box again and finished smartly to grab a well‑deserved goal.Bella Another game, another hat‑trick. She was unplayable—powerful, sharp, and clinical. Her hold‑up play was outstanding, constantly bringing others into the game. Her work rate showed real hunger, and her finishing was top drawer. Fully earned that McDonald’s.Evie Played tidy, composed football in midfield and put in a solid shift when asked to drop into defence. Won tackles, kept the ball moving, and finished the match back in midfield with a lovely, well‑taken goal.Effie – Parents’ Player of the Match A performance full of maturity and class. She covered the defence countless times, won every duel, and never looked flustered. Passed out calmly and intelligently, showing real leadership at the back. Parents recognised exactly how good she was today.Final ThoughtsA fantastic final friendly before next week’s cup final. The girls showed togetherness, quality, and a real desire to compete against higher‑level opposition. They should go into the final full of confidence after a performance like this. They’ve earned every bit of pride coming their way, and next week can’t come soon enough. ... See MoreSee Less

🦅 😃 We’re renaming the Hawks ‘The Heroes’ today after an incredible match of ups, downs, and ups! Fantastic to see the girls playing with so much confidence. Iyla and Brooke shared goalkeeper duties brilliantly, Nell was the boss and legs in the middle of the park and Nora played some neat passes and broke up play well. Violet was brilliant at the back and roamed forward late on, while Sophie threw herself into the match and did superbly with her tackles and forward play. 😃 Now, onto those grinning goal-getters…⚽️⚽️ Maria came out with massive energy on her own school ground and scored two beautifully-taken goals in the first quarter. What a match she had today, great effort. ⚽️ ⚽️ ⚽️ Daisy fired in a hat-trick. Her second goal was probably our best of the season, a long-range, soaring strike into the top corner. What a moment!⚽️ ⚽️ ⚽️ ⚽️ And finally… Freya was an attacking monster today, 4 superb goals and such a powerful performance from start to finish. 🏆 🏆 Freya - Parents’ and Opposition Player 🏆 Daisy - Coaches’ Player 🙌 Well done all - have a great weekend! ... U10 Panthers…what a performance today!!! Every single player gave 100%. A fantastic morning away at Wakefield City Girls, a thoroughly entertaining match, loads of action and probably the best team performance we’ve seen from our Panthers!!! Penny - legend shot stopper, coming out early and clearing the ball with total confidence. Wowed the crowd with a flurry of saves in an early busy spell. Grace - blocked everything that came her way and regardless of how many players pressed her she still found the perfect pass. Coaches’ Player. Well done Grace 🌟Alice - drove the team forward, a selfless performance making some fantastic passes throughout and bounced back strongly from a couple of knocks. Elle - an engine, covered some distance to help out all over the pitch, some important clearances after tracking back. Matilda - brought her A game, infectious energy. Happy to go toe to toe and made some important tackles. Darcey - great reading of the game, totally reliable at the back and spotted the chances to get forward too. Macey - hattrick ⚽️⚽️⚽️ this one meant business! Pressed and battled and got lots of shots away and scored a beauty from a corner - pounced and smashed it! Parents’ Player. Well done Macey🌟 Olivia - strong, determined, intelligent play. Handled the physical nature of the game with ease. Aurora - set piece master, communicates and helps organise the team like a pro and has a brilliant work ethic. Made the scoresheet again ⚽️ and Opposition Player. Well done Aurora 🌟 Annie - the birthday girl did great. The assist queen lived up to her title again, winning the ball from a speedy press and threading those balls through the lines creating chances for the reds. The energy today was electric. You were a team out there! Loved the clapping, the high fives and the support from the sidelines. You all did exactly what the coach asked you to do SIDE BEFORE SELF!! Well played Panthers ❤️🖤❤️ ... More vandalism has been reported to is on Savile Park football field. We are going to head down later to check the site out but youths on e-bikes / e-scooters tearing up the football pitch doing donuts and trying to cause damage to the goals. This was spotted by a number of residents that live locally, we are appealing to the local community to report this to the police non-emergency team. They have a case open on vandalism on both Church Lane (locks) and the Savile Park site for vandalism to the fields. It’s been reported that anti-social behaviour is being seen regular at the Savile Park site, with youths starting fires and vandalising the area, you will see the MUGA has been vandalised and multiple panels are now missing. We will be in touch again with the council and the police to try and get a solution to this issue, in the mean time please report this using the 101 number for non emergencies. We know speaking to local residents that the use of e-bikes and e-scooters on the roads in and around Methley is causing danger to pedestrians and road users, the more we report these incidents and the times of these are happening the more chance of the police have of identifying and catching these individuals. We’re investing thousands in to pitch maintenance each year and this is unacceptable. The Methley Mad Dogs U8s travelled to Hunslet yesterday for the cup final against Ackworth. Both teams gave it everything and played their hearts out, but it just wasn’t our day.Losing in football stings—no way around it. But it teaches resilience. U9 Match ReportMethley Vipers vs Hall Green BlacksToday we had our final league game of the U9 season, welcoming Hall Green Blacks to Church Lane in the glorious sunshine. The first quarter was quite a tight affair, end to end with some great saves by both keepers. From the second quarter the game really opened up, our Vipers really found their voices and feet, passing around well and really working for each other. The whole second half, was more of how we performed from the second quarter, controlling the game from midfield and the defence doing what they needed to when called upon.Goals today came from;HarrisonHJoelNoahTomasPlayer of the Match;Opposition went to Harrison, who has really owned the CM position and scored an absolute peach towards the end of the game.Coaches went to Max. Got himself an assist, but has really improved over the last few games, especially with his confidence. He was really vocal today which was great to hear. ... See MoreSee Less

Methley U11 girls Panthers played their penultimate home game of the season this weekend against Ackworth Whites. What a great game it turned out to be! Methley came out swinging with multiple chances from the offset. Midfielders Lauren and Tilly were putting the pressure on and keeping the ball in the Ackworth half. A solid defensive line up from Martha, Fran and Captain Sophia stopped Ackworth in their tracks throughout the first half giving our goal keeper Leah very little to do. Isla.C was playing her role well, getting the ball forward to striker Isla.S only to be denied multiple times by the very competent Ackworth goal keeper. The only Methley goal of the game came from the wing, a long range shot towards goal from Harper found its way into the net. On the opposite wing Alex was running her socks off playing balls through the gaps to the forward players. The passing and vision the girls had in this game was brilliant, they have all worked hard this season to improve. A really enjoyable game of grassroots football played by both teams, full credit to Ackworth who always give us a game and are a great bunch of girls. Match Report: Methley U15 Girls vs North East Leeds (Away) 1-2 It was an early start for Methley U15 Girls on a beautiful sunny day, and the team came out strong from the first whistle. The girls showed quality across the pitch, linking up with lovely one-two passing, delivering dangerous crosses, and driving forward with purpose while pressing relentlessly for possession. Every player demonstrated determination, passion, and a real sense of teamwork.North East Leeds’ goalkeeper proved to be a formidable presence, dealing confidently with a series of corners and crosses as Methley piled on the pressure. The breakthrough came just before the 10-minute mark when, from a goal kick, Aillie controlled the ball brilliantly and played it through to Poppers, who calmly lifted it over the advancing keeper into the far corner to give Methley a deserved lead.Methley continued to create chances throughout the half but were unable to extend their advantage despite their dominance. The second half saw Methley facing the added challenge of playing uphill, but their intensity and composure remained. Niamh was outstanding in the middle, showing quick feet and control, though she was repeatedly denied by an inspired goalkeeper who pulled off several excellent saves.North East Leeds managed to level the score with a counterattack, aided by an unfortunate bounce that looped over Methley’s keeper. Undeterred, Methley responded with resilience and determination. Their efforts were rewarded when Belle delivered a superb pass across goal to Kadie, who made no mistake in slotting home the winner.A fantastic team performance full of energy, skill, and togetherness—well done to all the girls! ⚽️ ❤️ ...
