So it was an away game today for our Methley Vipers final match of the U8 league season. We made the trip over to Leeds Juniors Ajax in Pudsey and wow what can I say! In a game that could have gone either way, it was a game for both teams to show strength, ability and skills. Great shots, great tackles and great saves!Goal scorers for today’s match were Noah, Jack, Roman and Henry.Opposition player of the match went to Joel for his overall play in goal, command of his area and distribution and Coaches player of the match was given to Roman for his tackling, holding the ball and a peach of a goal that looped over the keeper. What a way to end the season! Roll on the galas with next up being beach football!Well done Methley United U8 Vipers! ... See MoreSee Less

Thunder travelled to Morley to face an old rival this morning, in a much anticipated friendly. From the first whistle, to the final, the girls gave 110% in a game that was a true battle from both sides. The girls impressed the visiting fans with their determination and focus, as well as drive. It was a super match to watch! 🌟Dixie was a strong captain, showing great team work and being a perfect role model. Parent’s Player 🏆⚽️❤️ Margot!Margot channeled her inner Mary Earps this morning, saving shot after shot, with such an air of pride and confidence about her. Coach’s Player 🏆⚽️❤️ Sienna!Sienna played so well this morning, in goal and out. She made so many fantastic saves and was a pillar of strength in our midfield. A huge well done to all our amazing girls - Dixie, Margot, Sienna, Polly, Mia, Megan and Viv - who battled so hard today, and, as always, made everyone SO proud. PS. One day we’ll get a pic where they all look at the camera 🤣🤪❤️⚽️😍🌟⚽️❤️ ... See MoreSee Less

Methley United U9 Girls (Hawks) vs Queensbury CelticsThis morning’s match between Methley United U9 Girls (Hawks) and Queensbury Celtics provided a thrilling spectacle for all watching. After a slightly shaky start in the first quarter, the girls quickly settled and produced some fantastic football.Ahead of the game, we had been working hard in training on movement off the ball, quick passing, and making better use of the width and channels. It was really pleasing to see the girls taking these lessons onto the pitch, playing with good intensity, smart positioning, and creating some great attacking moments by stretching the play.Goals came from an - in striking form - Saskia, and an excellent finish from Nora - the reward for some excellent build-up play, with Maria and Violet threading superb through balls to break through the Queensbury defence.Lyla was outstanding, helping organise the defence with great communication and positioning before moving into goal for the final quarter, where she made some excellent saves — all of which earning her the Coach’s Player of the Match award. 🏆Nora and Nell showed their usual composure and strength, winning battles and distributing the ball smartly. ⚽️Bethany had a confident game, driving forward with determined dribbling and weaving runs to claim the Parents’ Player of the Match award. 🏆Phoebe and Freya also impressed with strong performances, while Iyla showed brilliant determination throughout the game. 💪A brilliant performance from all the girls and an enjoyable game for everyone involved! ... The u8 Blackhawks hosted Calverley this morning at Church Lane in perfect conditions and on a perfect pitch.Following a high scoring cracker earlier in the season the excitement was evident for another better of a football match.. this is exactly what happened.. what a game! The game started quickly and Blackhawks were on fire.. creating chances, closing the opposition down and playing at a rapid pace. Isla was outstanding in controlling the game and ensuring Edie, Alex and Eliza could run wild and free...Edie had a couple of chances early on but Calverley took an advantage against the run of play... then up stepped our 'angelic assassin' to turn the tide of the game. Blackhawks started to tire as half time approached but were able to dig deep to get to half time. The second half started and Blackhawks were struggling to get control of the game but Alex, now in goal made some great saves. The game was in the balance and Eliza stepped up to extend the advantage but Calverley kept plugging away and entering the last quarter the game was in the balance. In the last quarter Eliza, Alex and Isla were rampant and peppered the opposition throughout but the Calverley keeper was inspired and played outstanding. The game was end to end and Aria, Nola and Halle had to do some last ditch 1:1 defending. The game ended, girls shattered, crowd exhausted and smiles and handshakes all round. A brilliant game played in great spirits. Simply brilliant to watch and be apart of.Leadership team: Nola (C), Edie (VC)Goals: Alex and ElizaOpposition player: AlexParents player: Eliza ... The U9 Panthers travelled to play Calverley United Sharks this morning. The full squad were available and it was a treat to have the full group together again after the Easter break. And they were on fire 🔥 🔥 Best team performance of the season with standout performances all over the show. It was a cracking game against well-matched opposition and both sides worked hard and played well. ⚽️ Goal scorers were Macey, Ruby, Olivia, Alice (2) and Aurora ⚽️ whilst Penny, Olivia and Darcey covered the keeping with poise.Difficult to pick out individuals with such a solid team outing but well-deserved accolades…Coaches’ girl of the game ⭐️ Alice ⭐️ Trademark energy and speedy runs, always turning play to our advantage and superb one-to-one battles.Parents’ Player ⭐️ Ruby ⭐️A firecracker of a performance today, loads of important tackles to regain possession (even one whilst lying down) and always there to cover team mates when needed. Opposition’s Player ⭐️ Olivia ⭐️Those silky feet were in overdrive, fantastic ball control, hold up play and ball distribution. Another great morning with the Panthers. Well done girls ❤️🖤❤️ ... U9 Reds away friendly …Well I thought the Man Utd come back on Thursday was special but it had nothing on Methley coming back from 3-0 down at half time.So proud of them all they never got their heads down and kept working as a team, great team pressing, passing and solid in defence too. I just loved how they keep encouraging each other. Well done to Oliver best game I’ve seen from him, pressing all the time, great skills on the ball and playing some fantastic passes. Aaron got coaches player kept pressing for a goal and after hitting the post twice his hard work paid off getting a hat-trick in the end and causing lots of problems for the opposition defence. ... 💚 A huge favour on behalf of Coach Dan🙏 Only 9 days to go, Coach Dan is running the London Marathon raising money for Barnados💚 he’s raised 52% of his sponsorship money so far and is required by the charity to make it up the short fall with his own money if his target isn’t reached, given he’s already ran nearly 500 miles in his training, we feel he’s already given enough, any donations, no matter how small will make a big difference. www.justgiving.com/page/dan-czuba-barnadoslondon2025The QR code is attached too 👍If you can help make a difference we’d really appreciate it and more importantly so would the children that Barnados support! ☺️ The training involved in running a marathon requires you to run 600 miles in the run to be able to run 26.2 miles on race day, blows our mind 🤯. As most of you know, coach Dan is juggling his hefty training regime whilst doing a busy full time job, volunteer coaching for the Blacks and still being a great dad to the boys running them to various activities they do each week, often he’s having to run either super early or very late at night, he’s showing great commitment and self discipline ensuring each training run gets done ☑️ Thanks for all the donations already made, we’ve seen lots of names on this already from the club but would love to help Dan make the last 48% 🙏 All donations will be greatly appreciated 💚 ... U9 Reds What a great way to finish the league playing against Kippax who we started the season against. Always a great friendly competition between the 2 teams and today was no different, fantastic to see 2 teams just loving playing football. Parents player went to Harry ‘the brick wall’ fantastic tackling all game and playing some fabulous passes from defence. Coaches player went to Freddie, playing out of his usual position he never complained and kept a cool head making some great tackles and almost getting a goal near the end ... See MoreSee Less

A thriller of a game for the U9 Panthers who were away at Horsforth Tornadoes. It was a strong, cohesive team performance with every Methley player putting in 100%. Great passing, great tackling and all-round confidence and commitment. A fantastic little trio of Alice, Aurora and Matilda stood out in front of goal resulting in goals for Aurora (2) and Matilda. Communication on the pitch was probably the best we’ve seen with the girls talking to each other more and more, superb to hear praise and encouragement for each other too. Coaches’ Player ⭐️Elle⭐️A baptism of fire for Elle’s new boots! Solid defensive cover, commitment to winning the ball and some great runs with the ball, came close to scoring too. Parents’ Player ⭐️Olivia⭐️A mature and impressive performance, no-nonsense clearances, accurate passes and lots of creativity and good decision making on show. Olivia also caught the oppositions’s eye, picking up their player as well 👏 Blue skies, sunshine and eight happy footballers, what a great morning! Well done Panthers ❤️🖤❤️ ... See MoreSee Less
