The u7 Warriors welcomed South Milford for a special Monday night game having not kicked a ball in anger for over a month. The Warriors were facing a huge step up and found the early exchanges tough as they give themselves a mountain to climb but in the 2nd quarter they quickly climbed it as George hit two screamers and Henry finished a solo run. The game then swing back and forth. Henry K and Isaac grew into he game from a defensive point of view and started to make vital interventions. James was having a blinder down the right and was battling hard and making great yards with sublime passing down the wing. The Teddies were combing well and working relentlessly up and down the pitch. As the game was in the balance in the second half South Milford took control once again but the Warriors did not give up and came fighting back again. Reggie was battling hard and forcing the team up the pitch. George and Henry S finished strong with some great running and managed to get one back to end an enthralling game that was full of tough tackling, hard running and some moments of brilliance. Really sad to see more vandalism at our Savile Park site, this has been reported to the police again as criminal damage. We invest much time and effort in our pitches, we now have a long term lease on the pitches which requires us to maintain the pitches ourselves, at a cost to the football club.We invest good money in making the pitches look good and playable, with tens of thousands being spent each year on maintenance allowing over 700 players to play football in and around the village. If you an e-bike, if you have an e-scooter please do not go on to our pitches. We want these pitches to be the best they can be, we are trying hard to give the people of Methley and the wider community the best facilities we can. This reckless behaviour really tarnishes what we are trying to achieve. We have reached out to the council for more help to stop this, we need CCTV, we need the fencing replacing that has been vandalised to try and deter this behaviour. If you live near Savile Park and have ring doorbell footage, CCTV or any other video recording equipment facing towards the gates or paths surrounding Savile Park could you please help us and the police in identifying these people. If you have someone in the family with an e-bike or e-scooter please can you ensure they do not go near the football pitches on these vehicles, they are damaging the pitches and making them unplayable. When caught you will receive a criminal conviction which will be on their recird for the rest of their lives. Please help us catch these people, patrols will be increased after school and at weekends around the sites but dog walkers, passers-by please if you see any activity on these electric bikes or scooters please report this to the police immediately or take pics to give us the evidence we need to catch these people. We will be doing regular spot checks as a club to hopefully catch these individuals. We are speaking to security and surveillance firms to get the evidence we need to provide to the police in future reports. If you have any intelligence that may help catch these individuals could you please contact us at info@methleyunitedafc.org asap 🙏🏼I have attached a few photos but you can not see the scale of damage, this time they have literally damaged large areas of the Sav park field. 😞Kippax & Methley Labour Team - Mary Harland, James Lewis & Michael Millar Keir Mather MP ... Methley United U11 White Tigers vs WoodkirkGreat game on Sunday. Lots of passing and plenty of moving, for the first game back after Christmas Goals from Isaac, Jacob, Charlie, Hawk and Zac did all the damage but the thing that impressed me was defensively, from midfield to the keeper we looked solid in the tackle and hungry to winSome big saves from Oliver kept the score down and some goal line clearances from Archie3 assists for MOM, Ben today in an all action display, Freddie was combative at the back earning the other Coaches MOM. Methley United Move Quickly to Shut Down Man Utd Links Methley United have issued a swift and firm response to growing speculation linking members of their coaching staff with the vacant Man Utd managerial position, insisting that no approaches have been made — and none will be entertained.Following confirmation that Man Utd have parted company with Reuben Amorin, rumours began circulating this morning, the former Premier League giants were said to be “monitoring the situation closely” at Methley United. Club sources, however, were quick to play down the reports.Open Age manager Adam Lynch is understood to have “no interest whatsoever” in discussions with the Glazer family, preferring instead to focus on domestic matters including team shape, substitute availability, subscription chasing and ensuring kits are sent to the laundry after matches. A club insider said:“Adam is very happy where he is. He enjoys the grassroots game and would like to avoid the Glazer family at all costs, they confidently said we are now a much bigger club than Man Utd so we have no fears at all that Adam will be going anywhere beyond Castleford Academy.”Attention briefly shifted to coach Ricky, who had been named by some as an outside contender following his high-profile Cookie Campaign, a protest aimed at addressing the lack of biscuit sharing between players and coaching staff. Despite early momentum, negotiations are believed to have broken down after it emerged Ricky is currently preoccupied with planning his next viral post.Methley United acknowledged there is “always interest” in coaches across the club — from Mini Lions through to Open Age — but confirmed all staff remain committed to the project. The club concluded by stating that normal service will resume shortly, with training sessions, matchday routines and cookie-related disputes continuing as planned.🔴⚪🦁 ... Methley Rebels U12's had a quick last minute Xmas get together to do secret santa with their full team event planned in the new year. These girls have blown us away in 2025, having completed their first season as a team with a cup win! They continue to grow in confidence, improve by working well as a team and despite being low in numbers having lost some important players, continue to play great football. A pleasure to coach (most of the time!🤣) We cant wait to see what the new year has in store for them! Roll on 2026! ... See MoreSee Less

🏆🔴 Methley U10 Reds – Champions League Cup Winners! 🔴🏆Coaching these boys can, at times, be one of the hardest things I do — but without doubt it’s also one of the most rewarding. They have come on so much as a team this year, and after three years of watching others lift trophies, today it was finally our turn. Every bit of hard work, every setback, and every lesson learned along the way made this moment even more special.Today the lads dominated the final from the very first whistle, with every single player contributing to an exceptional all-round performance. The effort, teamwork, and desire on show were outstanding.I honestly love every one of these boys as if they were my own. I couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of them, and to achieve this with the whole team there together just made it even more special. ❤️Moments like this are what football — and coaching — is all about.Up the Methley Massive!!! 🔴⚽💪🏆 ... The Panthers U10s finished the season in style with a Church Lane fixture against Battyeford Belles Blues. Two competitive and well-matched teams entertained with exciting football.⚽️ Goals came from Macey who finished off a lovely piece of play from Alice and Olivia. And then there was a last kick of the game top corner worldie from Elle ⚽️Another fantastic team outing, with strong individual performances from them all - Ruby’s incredible dives in goal, Darcey bossing the defence, Annie’s battling on the wing, Aurora’s balls into the box and all supported by injured Bethany who cheered them on from start to finish.Coaches’ Player Matilda 🌟 An incredible performance with total commitment and desire. She was focussed and her non-stop energy had a massive impact, particularly a number of important clearances. Parents’ Player Macey 🌟Potent and energy-sapping pressing all game. Always making space, and battling to create chances.Opposition Player Elle 🌟Repeatedly breaking up the Oppo’s play, and that last ball of the game was a real wow moment. Then the Panthers family came together in a really special way to wish our Coach Chris a very happy birthday! The girls presented him with a Coach’s certificate, sang happy birthday (and Marching On Together, some of them!) and thanks to a star baker in the parent pool everyone was treated to the most amazing cakes. It was a great game of football with lots of positive support from both sets of coaches and parents and for the Battyeford girls to come over and sing with us was a nice touch, exactly what grassroots is all about!! A warm and fuzzy end to 2025 for a brilliant team. Have a great Christmas break everyone, with love from the Panthers ❤️🖤❤️ ... See MoreSee Less

🦅 The Under 10s Hawks signed off for the year with a cracking match in glorious conditions against Ovenden on Saturday. 🙌 This was the most complete team performance of the season so far and just brilliant to see the group loving their football and playing competitively with true respect. ⭐ Thea kicked off in style with two fine goals in the opening quarter and continued to show her skills in all positions throughout the match. She took home a well-deserved Parents’ Player of the Match award. ⭐ Maria grew and grew into the game and fought for every ball, setting up lots of chances and almost getting on the scoresheet herself. This was a 10/10 Maria effort and she duly picked up our Coaches’ certificate. ⚽️ As well as Thea (x2), Freya and Iyla also netted as they finished off excellent team moves. 🤩 Too many outstanding performances to mention really but a brilliant way to finish before Christmas - all topped off by a hotdog (or two!) in the clubhouse…🎄 Enjoy a well-earned rest and Merry Christmas!! ...
