Help Us Preserve Our Pitches
As we enter the wetter winter months, we kindly ask that teams warm up along the sides of the pitch to help preserve high-traffic areas, such as goal mouths and the centre of the field. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain the quality of our playing fields!
Guidelines for all our visitors
- Car Parking: The Methley Primary School pitch and car park is accessed through the 2 large green gates on Savile Road. There is parking as you drive through the gates, with the disabled parking spaces clearly marked (please only use these if you are entitled to). Please ensure that cars are parked in the marked parking bays only, it is vital that the middle area is accessible for any Emergency vehicles. We politely ask all visitors to be considerate and drive slowly when entering our site to ensure all our players and visitors stay safe whilst on the site.
- Toilet Facilities: We sadly do not have access to the school toilet facilities at present, the nearest toilets can be located just down the road at our main site on Church Lane, Methley, LS26 9HL.
- Access to the Pitches: The pitch is located just around the back of the school and is accessed through the main school playground gates.
- Respect: Like most grassroots football clubs we are a strong believer in ‘Respect’ of everyone involved in Grassroots football, not least the referee. As a club we promote the use of young referee’s and give them the confidence to officiate games after passing their qualifications. We ask that all visitors to our site respect the referee’s, young or old, male or female, without their willingness to officiate games we would not be able to play. We ask that supporters of both teams encourage the efforts of both teams and act respectfully at all times, creating a fun and friendly atmosphere that encourages both teams players to perform the best they can do.
- Drink Bottles/Rubbish: Can we please ask that you kindly pick up any rubbish from the pitches and ensure they are taken home or placed inside the bins just outside the car park on Savile Road, neat to the bus stop. We really appreciate you adhering to this.
- Muddy Boots: After the game has finished, we would ask all players to change in to other footwear to prevent the playground and car park being covered in mud. The school are very strict that we leave the site in the same state we found this so your co-operation in keeping the playground and car park mud-free would be greatly appreciated.
- School Play Equipment: We only have access to the Football pitch and car parking areas, the climbing equipment and playground toys must not be used whilst on site, failure to follow these rules will result in our contract with the school being terminated.
- Team Colours: Methley United AFC play all their home games in Red tops, black shorts and red socks.
- Dogs: As part of the contract with Methley Primary School, dogs are not allowed on site at the school.
- Smoking: The School have a strict no smoking policy that all visitors to our sites refrain from all forms of smoking (including e-cigarettes and vaping), Methley United AFC fully supports the FA’s Smoke Free side lines campaign, to provide a safe, smoke free environment for players to enjoy their football.
Methley United AFC is unable to take any liability or responsibility for failure of managers, coaches, parents/carers and players to adhere to these regulations. Although we try and maintain the cleanliness of our toilet facilities, you use these at your own risk.
On behalf of everyone at Methley United AFC, we wish you a safe trip over and look forward to welcoming you soon.
