Methley Vipers U9 vs Drighlington Juniors U9 Blue![]()
Yesterday was the third and final round of our cup journey against Drighlington Juniors Blues! ![]()
From the start, we played some great passes and defended well against a great Drighlington side. We held out until a deflected own goal broke the stalemate for Drighlington.![]()
Second half came along and once again the boys were strong and kept pushing and a miskick led to their next goal but they kept their chins up and kept on pushing for a goal.![]()
That came from Noah taking a rebound from a parry from the a Drighlington goalkeeper from Lucas’ chance.![]()
The game ended with a 2-1 loss but the boys played brilliantly and showed how they can pass, defend and play as a team. Really proud of them after the difficulties in the match the week before.![]()

Methley White Lions U11s V Colton Juniors FC. ![]()
Methley White Lions U11s travelled to Colton Juniors FC.
The boys started off strong and took the lead scoring 2 goals in the first 9 minutes.
Their game play was amazing with their training shining through. The boys showed their team work, looking where to put the ball and shouting for it at the right times.
Winning the ball high up helped applied pressure to the opposition to prevent them from troubling the defence and allowed us to have several chances.
Defence kept the ball out when needed leaving the other team with not many chance to score. ![]()
Just before half time the opposition had an opening and scored a well worked goal. ![]()
Second half, the opposition carried on the momentum making the boys work harder, they gave their best efforts, defence did a wonderful job of getting the ball out.
They listen to the coaches instructions, making big tackles. ![]()
All the boys played their best and showed amazing skills and read the game well.![]()
Special mention to Lewis and Logan who stepped up for today’s game by going in goal. ![]()

Battyeford 1–4 Methley U15 Girls![]()
Methley U15 Girls turned on the style for the start of their league campaign in a commanding 1-4 victory away at Battyeford, showcasing superb teamwork, attacking flair, and real determination from start to finish.![]()
The visitors started brightly, moving the ball with confidence and creating several early chances. Methley’s defence stayed solid and composed throughout despite some strong set pieces from the opposition . Methley’s attacking intent was clear as they struck the woodwork and forced a number of fine saves from the Battyeford keeper. Their persistence finally paid off before the break when Emily P calmly slotted home to give Methley a well-deserved 0-1 lead at half-time.![]()
The second half saw Methley maintain their dominance and turn pressure into goals. Creating chance after chance with sharp passing and great movement off the ball, Pippa doubled the lead with a confident strike in the box to make it 0-2. Battyeford responded quickly, pulling a goal back and momentarily shifting the momentum. However, Methley refused to let the hosts back into the game. Showing great awareness and positioning, Belle struck decisively from close range to restore the two-goal cushion and take the wind out of Battyeford’s sails. A Battyeford own goal made it four, capping off an excellent attacking display from the visitors.![]()
It was a dominant team performance, with every single player contributing — Methley’s defence stayed strong, their midfield worked tirelessly, and the forwards combined brilliantly throughout. On another day, the scoreline could have been even higher given the number of near misses and shots against the frame of the goal.![]()

Methley u10s whites hostes Horsforth st margarets in the cup this morning in what turned out to be a closely fought and entertaining match. James, Alex and Jesse were strong in defence and carter and Aaron played the central defensive midfield role very well with some great interceptions and passes forward. Harry, Thomas and Joe worked tirelessly in midfield and there was some lovely passing between them. Special mention to Ethan playing up front. Was unlucky not to score and pressed extremely well from the front to close the ball down and win back possession. A great performance up front from Zach too who took his goal very well after a perfectly timed pass from Thomas. Captain went to Aaron for his battling performance and endless energy. Player of the match to Riley who was immense in goal today with numerous quality saves and great positioning to keep us in the game at times.

The u9 Blackhawks hosted Bramley today in a cracker of a game played at a high tempo and in great spirits throughout.![]()
Blackhawks started strongly and peppered the Bramley goal but couldn't quite take advantage.. the pressure kept building as Isla ran the show from midfield and caused non stop problems with a number of top corners.![]()
Finally the pressure told as the blackhawks switched play to find Isla in loads of space who found a finish... the blackhawks kept pushing and another corner finally worked as Eliza was in the right place at the right time.![]()
Edie, Halle and Millie were tight at the back and reading the game well and Evie and Maia were working really hard in attack. Aria was always in the right place to stop attacks and her passing was sublime as she released our speedy wingers..![]()
At half time the Blackhawks were in control and then came the moment of the match as Alex burst down the wing, committed defenders and played a lovely pass to Edie who was waiting in the right position. Edie made no mistake in front of goal..![]()
The blackhawks were attacking freely and working some great positions and showing maturity in decision making... then we saw the defensive grit and determination come into play. Bramley fought there way back in and then had a quarter of attacking themselves. The blackhawks dug deep to hold on and saw the game out with one last lung bursting run down the wing from Eliza who narrowly missed out on the icing on the cake![]()

Another rock-solid display. Her covering of teammates was exceptional, and she’s growing in confidence with every game. Calm, assured, and a real defensive anchor.![]()
⚡ Iris
Unplayable. From minute one she dominated, using her speed and strength to tear through Ossett’s defence. Bagged a couple of assists and earned Parents’ Player — fully deserved.![]()
🎯 Flo
A super game. Relaxed on the ball, ran at her marker repeatedly and beat her every time. Delivered dangerous crosses and picked up 2 well-earned Assists. A constant threat.![]()
🔋 Evie
The little engine in midfield. Won second balls, made tackles, and kept the team ticking with forward passes. Her energy and tenacity were crucial to the Rebels’ control.![]()
🔥 Amelie
Tenacious as ever. Broke up attacks, pressed relentlessly, and was rewarded with a smart finish into the bottom corner. A proper midfield warrior.![]()
🎩 Bella
Absolutely outstanding. Her work rate was immense, her quality on the ball unmatched, and her composure in front of goal was elite. Four brilliant goals, including a sublime round-the-keeper finish that had the coaches purring. Deservedly took home Coaches’ Player.![]()
Methley Rebels are flying — and with performances like this, no one will want to draw the Rebels. Quarter-finals await. Let’s keep marching.
