Methley United AFC is a community club run entirely by volunteers. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for passionate people to join our team and help us provide the best possible experience for hundreds of players and families.

Vice Chair (2 Vacancies)
Estimated time: 3.5 hours per week
Role description
We’re looking for two Vice Chairs to support the Club Chair with the day-to-day running and continued development of Methley United AFC. This is an important leadership role that helps ensure the club continues to operate effectively as we grow.
Responsibilities
- Support the overall running of the club.
- Conduct onboarding interviews for new coaches.
- Support disciplinary officers with cases where required.
- Oversee sponsorship rules and compliance.
- Help manage and resolve day-to-day operational issues.
- Provide fair, balanced and consistent decision making.
- Support the Chair with wider club development initiatives.

Rugby Liaison Officer
Estimated time: 1 hour per week
Role description
This role helps maintain a positive working relationship with our rugby club partners and ensures facilities are shared smoothly throughout the season.
Responsibilities
- Advise the rugby club of weekly football fixtures.
- Liaise with rugby representatives regarding any on-site issues.
- Coordinate changing room requirements.
- Manage changing room keys for Church Lane facilities.

Pitches & Grounds Coordinator
Estimated time: 2 hours per week
Role description
We’re looking for someone to take ownership of pitch maintenance planning and help ensure our facilities remain safe, playable and well maintained throughout the year.
You’ll work closely with club volunteers, external contractors and football governing bodies to support the ongoing improvement of our pitches.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate pitch maintenance activities across club sites.
- Manage the summer grass maintenance programme.
- Liaise with grass cutting and line marking contractors.
- Work with FA Grounds teams and support recommendations for pitch improvements.
- Help identify and resolve pitch-related issues.
- Support planning of future pitch maintenance requirements.

Goals & Equipment Maintenance Volunteer(s)
Estimated time: 2 hours per week
Role description
We’re looking for practical volunteers who can help maintain and repair football equipment across all of our Methley sites. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on tasks and making sure everything is working as it should.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain goalposts across all club sites.
- Repair and replace goal wheels where required.
- Fix and maintain goal levers and moving parts.
- Lubricate mechanisms to keep equipment safe and functional.
- Carry out general equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Help identify when equipment needs replacing.
- Support ordering of replacement equipment when required.

Disciplinary Officer (2 Vacancies)
Estimated time: 2 hours per week
Role description
We’re looking for two additional volunteers to support our existing Disciplinary Officer and Club Welfare Officers with non-welfare disciplinary matters.
Responsibilities
- Manage non-welfare misconduct cases.
- Gather statements and supporting evidence.
- Prepare and submit documentation to the FA.
- Liaise with coaches throughout the disciplinary process.

Coach Development Officer (2 Vacancies)
Estimated time: 1 hour per week
Role description
Work alongside our Coach Development Lead, Adam Lynch, to help support and develop new coaches joining the club.
Responsibilities
- Assist with onboarding new coaches.
- Develop and maintain a Coaches’ FAQ resource.
- Provide ongoing support and answer coach queries.
- Help coaches use FA systems and digital apps.
- Support coaches as they settle into their roles.
