**Methley Whites U7 - Beach Football 12th May**Well what an introduction to beach football for the U7 Whites. Weather was glorious and the day as a whole was something they, myself and Rach will never forget.Couldn’t be anymore prouder of these kids. Their bond and friendship is so great to see, and always shows out on any pitch, whether they win or lose. Every single kid played their hearts out individually, and as a team. They passed, scored and saved goals. They were commented on by the referee as being a credit to the club and we couldn’t ask for anything more out of them. Was great to see the parents enjoying the day, supporting the team and coaches and just being great throughout. GroupsPlayed 6, won 5 and lost 1. Scored 17 and concede 3Lost in last 16 1-0 Well done Methley Whites. Looking forward to our next chapter. ... See MoreSee Less

U10 Whites vs CollinghamA tough way to end the season for the U10 Whites in their cup final. In a very even game that went to extra time against tough opposition the lads fought to the end but it wasn't to be. Another hat trick from Isaac, his eighth time scoring three or more this season. Player of the match was Jake who ran himself into the ground. It's been a great season overall where all of the lads have improved, playing some amazing fast paced passing football. We've welcomed some new faces and said goodbye to others. We now prepare for 9 a side and building for the new season with friendlies and galas. ... See MoreSee Less

The U7 Blackhawks finished the season with a home game against Clifton in the glorious sunshine. The girls started at a ferocious pace and got the rewards for a high energy start. The girls pace started to slow as the one available sub was rotated quickly to help the girls have a breather and get lots of fluids on board. As the pace slowed, Clifton grew into the game and were able to wipe away Methleys advantage. As we entered the last 10 minutes of the season we needed a big effort to be able to end on a high. The girls delivered a high intensity burst that enabled them to seize the advantage again and they were able to capitalise on this with a couple of brilliant goals towards the end. U10 Whites Vs Howden Ravens - Cup Semi FinalMethley started quickly, the team defended superbly from the front, dominating possession, playing great football and creating enough chances to win most games in the early stages. The boys were fabulous in every position relentless from the first to last whistle, it was a joy to watch against a good team.Goals from Dan 3, Dylan 2 and Cobie/Louie (nobody could tell who scored). With Dan picking up his consecutive player of the match awards in only his second game for the team. ... See MoreSee Less

Blackhawks U7's visited Forfe Way this morning and the conditions were perfect for football.Yet again the girls served up a fiesta of football that was exhilarating to watch... the game was frantic and furious and played at a high speed throughout. The game started evenly and both teams battled for space and dominance, the scoreline ebbed and flowed and there was nothing between the teams at half time. The girls produced some of their best passing in the first half and cut their opponents apart on a couple of occasions. The second half was slow to reignite for the blackhawks and they left themselves plenty of work to do in the final quarter.. they rose to this challenge as the closing down of Alex and Eliza forced opponents into mistakes and Maya's power game put the advantage back with the Blackhawks. Halle and Isla marshalled their attacking players well and played with discipline and determination in equal measure. Another fantastic game and with no subs the coaches are ridiculously proud of their continued effort... incredible group of girls that improve every week.Leadership team; Aria (C), Halle and Isla (VC)Goalscorers; Alex, Eliza and MayaOpponents player; MayaParents player; MayaGo Blackhawks ... ⚽️ FINAL GAME REPORT!🤩 What a season we’ve had with the fabulous Under 8s Girls (Blacks team) this year!We ended with a massive effort today against a good Calverley team, every one of our 10-strong squad playing with enthusiasm and some great positive energy - what a long way we’ve come in such a short space of time, most of our girls playing their first full season and some only starting their football journey with us over the past couple of months. 🏆 Nell was a unanimous choice for Parents’ Player of the Match today, ending her first year with another smashing performance. 😃 The Coaches were thrilled with Penelope’s efforts after being very patient and having to wait for her chance to shine. ‘The Pea’ continues to grow at a fantastic rate and was a worthy winner of her award this morning. Everyone should be very proud of themselves after really going for it in every part of the game. Special word for goalscorers Phoebe and Nell. And congratulations to all for a good season! ☀️ Bring on the summer galas and next season!! ... See MoreSee Less

Morning allStill a few games going on so wanted to wish all teams the best of luck this morning. A few key games I see from the fixtures, we have 2 home semi final games one at Methley school and one at Church Lane with the 2 x u10s boys teams in action, our u16s whites play host to Askern Miners at Sav Park as they continue to push for the division 1 title with just 3 league games remaining. A huge good luck to our u13s boys who take the trip over to the Just Football MDC Stadium in Hemsworth to play their u13s Final against AFC Bentley Academy. Whatever the results this is a super achievement reaching the u13s cup final from the 2nd division.Hope everyone has a lovely, enjoyable morning. Please remember let’s continue to represent our club and village with pride at home or away and let’s continue to show respect throughout. Enjoy your gamesCP😀 ... See MoreSee Less

⚽️ U12 Reds 🔴 have had a fantastic end to the season over the past 2 matches! Last weekend we played Goole away and came away with a 2-2 draw. Raf scored a brilliant goal and this match provided Oscar with the opportunity to get his big 5️⃣0️⃣th goal!! 🎉👏 amazing achievement for an amazing player! Very well done to you Oscar! He was clearly deserving of the MOTM last week! This weekend we played top of the table, Newbald Juniors, at home. This match was incredible for more than 1 reason! Olly not only got the goal he’s been wanting, but he got a hatrick! 💥 Joseph got a goal, Oscar got another 2 goals and finally Josh got his first goal with the last kick of the game & season!! 🎉🎉 MOTM for this game went to a well deserved Olly! Well done boys, coming away with a 7-1 win 💪🏻 What a way to finish things off! ⚽️ ... See MoreSee Less

Methley rebels took on Methly u11's in a throughly entertaining game. I think all of Methley heard the Rebels score today! - what a great run and finish from Bella her determination was brilliant The rebels ran into really tough opposition today - they have some superstar players and they were really enjoying themselves out there Daisy as usual put some important tackles in and is always reliable for clearing the ball - we love seeing her discipline and her positioning on the pitch Ams was working really hard at the back pushing players wide and disrupting them when they pinched in, she was vocal too and a couple of tackles and clearances that she made were when she was alone and really under pressure top stuff!Evie Mae was a star today, big smile loads of pressing and she really took on board what Micky told them, she made a great run and Rebels were unlucky not to score from it Evie Rose is a right battler, she didn’t get phased by the bigger stronger players, her tracking was great and when she hits top gear she is so quick across the ground and wasn’t scared of bumping shoulders Effie is another who can really put in a turn of pace, she had the tough task of keeping Darcy out and she never gave up, pacing back and trying to keep her crosses to a minimum - she seemed to really enjoy that too, when she did disrupt her at one point she turned around and beamed towards the coaches Everly really tried hard today Micky was really quick to praise her for giving her maximum and trying her best, when she put that penalty away at the end the place went crackers! Iris was brilliant today, she did exactly what Micky asked her today, was disruptive, vocal and put in loads of effort - as a lone striker it was hard at times but she kept getting stuck in and created chances Bella was brilliant, she confessed she was nervous at the start of “the big year 6’s” but soon as whistle went that faded away, she put in bags of effort in defence and attack - a very cool goal that my lovely wife heard from a mile away! Connie’s debut was excellent - I think Melissa called it on Monday and said it’s like she’s always been there - she tracked back, made tackles, picked out passes and worked hard - delighted she has joined and she will do really well in sure Flo has heard this verbally from me but really proud of her giving it everything and working her little socks off for her team ( she’s currently asleep under a blanket ) And last but not least…Lil! What a star.. she pulled on her new keepers jersey and looked like she’s been wearing it forever… she had a very hard task today and made some saves that got all the girls cheering and believing, it was really tough but she stayed in there, made save after save after save and deserved her clean sweep of trophies and the girls all agreed too 🏆 🏆 🏆 Penalty shootout was a bit of fun at the end but it was good to practice it in a “safe” match To see the Rebels hugging, whooping and cheering every miss, save and goal was electric - what a great bunch of kids 😊🏆!Thanks folks from your very worn out coaching team 😂👍🏼 ... U7 Blackhawks hosted HSM lionesses this morning on a sunny but chilly morning down at Church Lane. The game started with Blackhawks dominating the ball and taking advantage of some early chances. The girls worked really hard, tried to implement their developing passing game and supported each other throughout the half.Blackhawks remained on top for the remainder of the first half as they relentlessly harassed their opponents. The girls then played in numerous different positions and worked on developing their understanding of these. This was done with the usual 'can do' attitude that they adopt for all challenges they are faced withThe girls played the game in good spirits, a smile on their face and with respect for opponents throughout.Leadership team: Alex (C), Maya (VC), Eadie (VC)Opponents player: AlexParents player: HalleGoalscorers: Maya, Eliza, Alex, Eadie Go Blackhawks ...
